The web import flow turns a document into reviewable story elements. Nothing is added to the project until you inspect and apply the accepted results.
Before you upload
Use a collaborative project and prepare a PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown document. The current web flow also accepts scanned images through the document analysis service, subject to the displayed size limit. Keep a copy of the original document: import is an extraction aid, not a replacement for the source.
Start an import
- Open the project’s Import area.
- Choose a new project or an existing collaborative project as the destination.
- Select the document language, or keep automatic detection for a multilingual file.
- Upload the file and wait while WriCo reads, analyzes and checks possible duplicates.
Review before applying
The review screen groups detected characters, locations, objects, plots, scenes and notes. For each item, inspect the name, details, source page and confidence before accepting it.
- Accept: include the item in the next application.
- Reject: leave the item out.
- Merge or replace: resolve a possible duplicate only when the existing and imported facts refer to the same story element.
- Keep both: use this when similar names represent different elements.
Apply safely
Select Apply Import only after checking the accepted count. WriCo applies accepted items as a single import operation. If the operation fails, no accepted items should be treated as saved; resolve the error and start the review again if necessary.
